Martial Law.

Dear Journal,

Since 'Gnoll War' escalation, Martial Law is in effect in Peltarch.

Senate lost it's power, i don't know how much.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean star 2nd.

Celebration.

Dear Journal.

I'll paraphrase a Summary of the recent Events:

Slipped into the pockets of Defenders and Ceruleans alike were small, festively adorned invitations to the Amethyst Festhall, in celebration of the recent bout of recruitments and promotions within the military branch. The invitation promises dancing, music, good food and drink for all personel able to attend.

Gnolls are not invited.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean Star 2nd.

Assault on Gnolls.

Dear Journal,

The defender army has made their first offensive move of the war, attacking the gnolls around Legion tower.

Although they couldn't manage to get a foothold in that area due to response from gnolls which made the Defenders retreat via spells, the lack of casualties on defender side meant it could been considered a victory to many.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean star 2nd.

Promotion.

Dear Journal,

Just received a promotion from the Cerulean HQ.

"Chea Allin is hereby promoted to Second Star."

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean Star 2nd.

Maria's Trial.

Dear Journal,

'Senator Maria was sentenced to one year in service of the War Camp, 400 gold fines, and loss of her title as Senator of the fair city of Peltarch for her assault on Sigrid.'

Exploring Rawlinswoods (Lomy's Tale).

Lomy & Deer.

Dear Journal,

I've dared to explore safest parts of the Rawlinswoods again.

Entertaining Deer seemed pointless enough, so I reduced myself to scouting & killing few of goblins & wolves.

Donned my studded leather for that, and went fairly quietly this time, for I had no energy for healing or any other songs left.

Got wounded by wolf, retreated.

Then met a 'hin trader of Goblin goods, hiding his face under a helmet', by name of 'Ukka Tweeweaf'.

Sold him a raggy goblin doll that I found curiously on a goblin body, then bought a small shield... Not very protective, but light enough to not hinder my poor attempts at sneaking in woods too much. As if anything could, I have to add.

I'll have to rest for a while and recover from wounds.

-- 'Lomy', spent bard, therefore a quieter ranger.

Lomy & Ukka, probably a Goblin Ninja.

Second Trip into Rawlins (Lomy's Tale).

A wolf killed.

Dear Journal,

Seems that locals are very untrusting of those such as me.

Went to hunt goblins, instead of angering the locals too much.

Killed the two of the Goblinhood, probably those that beat me nearly yesterday... after recovering succesfully thanks to healing songs & rest at the Inn.

They were anticipating a fight in an ambush.

Killed them both. Killed them with my bow - of short type, with a sinister curse & other songs.

Sinister song does not make beings scared, just weak as they fight, or outside a fight... in many ways.

Also inspires those on our side to fight better, so it's used best in a group fights.

... then hunted for a while more, managed to kill a few more, of goblins & wolves... then retreated, wounded again.

Went a little deeper into the Rawlinswood this time, 'where wolves howl'.

-- 'Lomy', a ranger untrusted, a sinister singer.

Wounded (Lomy's Tale).

Retreat.

Dear Journal,

I've dared to combat few goblins.

Managed to kill about 2-3 'shorties' or 'shinbiters' - as they are called by locals, perhaps, then remaining 2 almost got me dead.

One of them was a caster - 'spellyapper', that's why.

Charged at him with a Shortsword drawn, instead of shooting with a Shortbow.

Luckily i've fled succesfully, then started to recover.

Probably wound won't fester, at least.

-- 'Lomy', recovering at the Inn.

Shortbow Practice (Lomy's Tale).

a Shortbow Practice.

Dear Journal,

They have a shooting range, in this rural place, which i should call 'a Town of Norwick', or even 'Norwick Realm' if i wish to exaggerate the Political Correctness, from now on.

Managed to hit archery target still, twice, from a fairly long distance - with a Shortbow.

-- Lomy.

P.S. Managed to not break either of arrows as i used them. Well done, 'Lomy'.

P.S.S. Did infamy of a curse song reach this place before my arrival? No townspeople came to see my Artful Potential, which is not so unusual in such places.

After shooting.

Norwick's Campfire at night.

Clandra Jorinsen.

Dear Journal,

Clandra Jorinsen is one of most underrated Bards of Narfell, i think...

She left significiant mark, was despised by many for long for her Erotisms, then somehow seduced a Paladin, Rath Ashald.

She gave birth to Rath Ashald-Jorinsen, Jr.

She has a honorable mention in Peltarch's Theatre & Bardic College, as one of Masters, i think.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Chronicler & Scribe.

Evil & Wicked, Artful Way... (Lomy's Tale).

'Lomy', Evil Bard & Ranger,
a Moon Elf,
with a Proper, Deathly-Pale, Blue Makeup.

Dear Journal,

I've arrived in Narfell alive & well.

Equipment is still a mess after a long travel.

Perhaps they won't kick me out from this rural place too early.

Rallying Troops (Frances' Tale).

Am I useful in Gnoll Conflict?

No, just and only because I have no troops.

I've been trained to signal the attack or rally the troops, making them stop fleeing... by Darkhaven Family in Oscura, in case of a Battle.

With 'True Strike' Spell, which needs some work to be useful, along with 'Flame Weapon' cast on arrows, I could signal attack on Gnoll Leader to start battle.

But they won't trust me, I think.

... perhaps better that way, anyway.

-- Frances, wandering disgraced noble of Oscuran Darkhaven origin.

Gnoll Fighting.

Dear Journal,

i've neglected to write it all, all what happened during Gnoll Conflict so far.

since fortifications & carrying the orders, few important things of note happened in the Area.

- a warning about Drow in the Kuo Toa caves nearby, by the Troff Legion General, 'right-sized-folk', Theaon Thorn. Troff Legion is multiracial.
- a massive assault was launched on the camp by the Gnolls. the assault consisted of some undead, some demons and alot of Gnolls. the general was heard talking about changing into offensive gear...,
- the preparations recieved a setback as the Gnolls found a way to poison the defenders' water supply. luckily a ranger and a mage managed to solve the problem. later there was slaying of wyverns in the pass for some reason, perhaps their poison was used.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean star 1st.

P.S. Dear Journal, not only our General is Blonde. Yours, Chea Allin, a blonde with hair dyed Black.

Gnoll War Camp.

War Camp at Night, Warning: Gnolls Nearby.

Dear Journal,

City of Peltarch isn't safe, but orders call.

Went invisible, to War Camp... in Gnoll Territory, to see how i can support the Battle Effort.

There will be Recon & Other Missions soon, in which i'll participate, perhaps.

Staying with Soldiers for now.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean Star 1st.

On a way to War Camp.

Briefly in the Commons.

Briefly in the Commons.

Dear Journal,

i've been briefly and informally in our Peltarch's Commons.

Despite 'Gnoll Conflict Escalation', adventurers still gather there occasionally.

Exchanged pleasantries & smiles, including complimenting Elegant Simplicity of Raryldor Siamytherelin's Staff.

My own Staff is also simple and black, in honor of Khelben Blackstaff Arunsun, Attentus' role model, i had to mention.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Informal & Brief Investigator.

Unpleasant meaning of word 'Spelly'.

Dear Journal,

what is the meaning of word 'Spelly'?

it's rather unpleasant, related to a bad smell, and childish little incompetence with magic, lack of compassion leading to stop oneself from cursing, from spelling improperly.

a mere Foul Grammar Form, a Spell, a Curse.

Few nobler people fight efficiently using Curses though, to Protect, not lacking the Compassion... then it's called a 'Noble Verse' instead of a 'Foul Grammar', at least by their people, but not by enemies.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, a hexxer witch.

Peltarch Senate's Spelly Drama.

a Drama.

Dear Journal,

i've heard about commotion that affects whole of Peltarch & more...

'The commons were host to a rowdy commotion last night. What began as an argument in the afternoon concerning the abuse of magic came to a crescendo with accusations of corruption and injustice, counter accusations of dishonesty, and with threats of physical violence.

Senator Maria was arrested and taken to the prison after nearly incinerating a Legion soldier.'

Night Stars.

Evening with Cray.

Dear Journal,

i've met in commons a Ranger, sitting on a tree branch,

we talked about Selûne, about love, he fell from the tree when i used word 'sex' as a warning,

this Fallen Ranger didn't rise, untill Oscuran Friend Cray came,

then we talked about Selûne with Cray, about evening and drinking... he mentioned blood.

is he a Vampire?

i left, i would die if he drank my blood, i think.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, a Witch under a Night-Moon.

A Prison (Anheim's Tale).

This place feels like a Prison for a Warrior-Mage.

Prison of Delusions and Illusory Peace, but not only.

Proper tools are expensive, rare & inefficient as a way and means to reach Liberation and Enlightenment.

Perhaps if an Asteroid of Metal & Stone fell and caused catastrophe, people would interpret it as a sign from Gods and made weapons from such to fight for Freedoms of their choice.

Would this help them escape this a Prison?

-- Anheim, also known as Black Cloak, a warrior-mage without means.

P.S. Writing this from a larger perspective than recent conflict escalation with Gnolls, this won't change after a Peace is enforced.

----
((inspiration came from Buddhism, Martial Arts & Social Engineering Technique called 'Magic of Atlantis, Egypt, Astral')).

'a Heroine in Your case'.

Dear Journal,

i wrote a letter to Anheim, regarding the question he gave me in the past.

i'll paraphrase that for You, Dear Journal:

Anheim: i heard women are like Alcohol... are you such, Chea?

Chea Allin: a Heroine in Your case... it takes that to be with You.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, sleepy & lucid a Heroine.

Faerûnian Geography & Related.

Dear Journal,

Here's a quick run-down of Faerûnian Geography, at least of the parts that draw my attention the most.

Narfell lies in the Northeastern Part of Faerûn, as does Damara.

The Unapproachable East is a border region between the northeast Faerûn and east Faerûn.

Aglarond was a magocratic state in the southwestern-most part of the Unapproachable East with its capital at Veltalar. Most of its land was covered by the Yuirwood. Filled with magic and mystery, it was ruled by one of the most potent spellcasters of the Realms...

Northeast Faerûn is a remote area that begins in the cold, forbidding lands along the great ice sheets and continues south toward the northeastern shores of the Sea of Fallen Stars. It is bordered on the west by the mountain-hemmed land of Vaasa and stretches east to the vast steppes of the Hordelands.

Faerûn is a major continent on the planet of Abeir-Toril.

To the east of Faerûn, is border of a vast regions of steppe from Oriental lands of
Kara-Tur: Archipelago of Kozakura, Wa Empire, Shou Lung with Great Dragonwall, and other... i know that Ruri Hasegawa came to Narfell from Kozakura.

South of the Faerûn, separated by the Great Sea, is the sub-tropical land of Zakhara, Land of Fate.

The western part of Faerûn includes Waterdeep, City of Splendors, home of Khelben 'Blackstaff' Arunsun, as far as i can remember. It's where Attentus filius Versutus was raised, in a Tower located near the City. i am not sure where Wethrillina filia Aelen was raised, but i know she had Unseelie Fey blood, blue skin and tormented past.

The nations south of Waterdeep and north of the Shining Sea, that border along the Sea of Swords. The west includes Moonshaes (Moonshae Isles) and Nelanther Isles.

Interior lands of Faerûn lie along the irregular western coastline of the Sea of Fallen Stars. In the north the Dragonmere arm of the sea extends far to the west, ending close to the Western Heartlands. To the south, the Vilhon Reach forms a second arm leading to the southwest. It's where we can find Cormyr, Chondath & other. In Cormyr, the city of Shade and the ruins of Myth Drannor both posed a threat.

North Faerûn stretches from the wide Anauroch desert in the west to the eastern edge of the inland Moonsea, in the northern region of Faerûn. It is a region of contrasts, with the forested Dalelands, the wastes of Anauroch, the coastline of the Moonsea, and the bitterly cold steppes of The Ride.

Located in Anauroch, North Faerûn, the magocracy of Netheril was one of the ancient human empires of Faerûn. Netheril was also the home of the most powerful wizard who ever walked on Faerûn, Karsus. The Netherese also created powerful artifacts known as mythallars, which allow mundane objects to become magical, dramatically changing the face of the Netheril Empire (or better said the face of the upper side of the empire, as Netheril eventually became twofold: the "have", High Netherese, and the "have not", low Netherese)...

... i should also read about Other Magical Empires of Old, when i have time... and about Elven Vampire Anabelle (a Dead Rose, she was Druidess before her Vampiric Embrace), Elven Druidess Elrien who took over care of Anabelle's Bear Companion 'Sherna', Elven Wizard Delawen, & Elven Cleric and Mage (as far as i can find information, so perhaps it's true and accurate), Luna Seleren;

... i know that Sherna, Anabelle & Elrien didn't respect Norwick Laws too much, often taking bear into within of the Town's Walls...

... Luna Seleren loved stories and was a great Storyteller, and almost an Attentus' lover at one point in their lives.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, 'a poor land-scribe'.

P.S. Mage is abstract term when it comes to magic-user description, both Wizards, Sorcerers and many other are considered 'Mages' by many. An 'Arcanist' is even broader term, for it includes Bards and many other.

Recruitment, Land of Fate.

Dear Journal,

i've witnessed someone from Zakhara, Land of Fate, trying to get recruited into Cerulean Knight Ranks, while pretending it's a less altruistic service than in Zakhara, most likely.

Name: Ihsan al-Rashid

Profession: Travelling minstrel

Arcane knowledge: Cantrips and first tier arcane spells as of this writing.

Military experience: Four years of service in the Zakharan military, basic martial training.

I write this letter to express my interest in joining the Cerulean Knights of Peltarch as an upstart bard and former soldier. My travels have taken me far and wide since I left the road from Zakhara, and I see myself eager and willing to serve in a force dedicated to the use of magic. The knights are a good opportunity to apply what I have learned in a more altruistic context. In turn, I offer my sword and my skills as a scholar, a minstrel, and a warrior to the knights. I thank you for the consideration

Icelace Beach, Spelly Rituals.

Dear Journal,

Managed to look at the Cerulean reports again.

There seem to be Snow Goblins, Giants, White Dragon by name of 'Ky' & Adventurers presence mentioned on the Icelace Beach, near the Menhir Stones... but not only such...

There are Menhir Stones not only in the Icelace Beach but spread across whole of Narfell, forming the Ley-Line Network.

Ley-Line Network was discovered by Spellweaver Mage, perhaps Isaac Hamilton. Perhaps reports are still available at the Keep.

Snow Goblins sacrificed other tribe Snow Goblins, slitting their throats.

There was reported red blood splashed across the Menhir Stones & Red Pentagram perhaps...

There were battles with Snow Goblins & Monster(s), with use of magic, but perhaps not only magic.

There was magical activity at the Menhir Stones.

In Narfell, Menhir Stones come in groups of three of such, forming a triangle at base, not far from each.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean star 1st.

Gypsy Tower Defences.

Dear Journal,

'War Camp has been set up in the bridge area. Defenders have taken the Gypsy Towers, and some simple protective fences have been built. A few frost giants and Troff Legionnaires are seen patroling the area as well. Adventurers are welcomed to come kill the occasional gnoll there.'

After that a setup, Gnolls attacked, with Manticores Support, then large White Dragon appeared to support Defenders, battle was won.

Fortifications continue to progress, more stones were added to the broken walls, along with usual patrols & duties...

Messengers carry the Orders between the Gypsy Towers & Peltarch 'sneaking past Gnoll patrols north of the bridge', more or less.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean star 1st.

P.S. Anheim called this strategy, 'a typical field kit', or 'a typical field setup'... without the great Strategists it seems to make sense to reduce strategy to patrols, sneaking, skirmishes, lures & ambushes, fortifications, army pushes & such on the both sides, even if there are more than two sides in Narfell & more tools of War than just a Sword, Bow, Shield, Dagger & Cloak.

Anheim's Quiet.

Dear Journal,

Will i survive without Anheim?

He's strangely quiet...

Proper Spelling.

Dear Journal,

what is a Proper Spelling, a Grammar?

do i know it?

perhaps in a way.

if every Thought, Word & Action is considered, basics of Arcane Theory & Proper Rituals are added... can we call it a Grammar?

i can't, for i am not as a Literate as many...

but perhaps if someone can do it for me, for us, i'd care and return a Favour if i could, and i will if i can.

if i know.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, an artist without too many tools.

Unclouding Mind.

A talk in Peltarch Commons about Clouded Mind...

Dear Journal,

Fighting against clouds that obscure Mind, for loved ones, for myself, for friends, for allies. Peltarch included.

Using magics, spelling, words, gestures... and more...

It's like a scene, a theatre of a life, where gods judge & decide if i am worthy of that privilege, of affecting a change in our direction.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean star 1st.

Soul Entropy.

Dear Journal,

i had insight, related to putting a 'Drop of Limbo' into Oscuran Soulwell in past by me.

there will be 'Entropy of Souls', perhaps.

---

what is a Soul? there are varied opinions, depending on a Philosophy or a Religion.

for me it's element, root of life, something immaterial, energy in a material body that makes it alive, different from dead or undead.

basicly that, even if necromantic spells pervert this.

Spirituality is what deals with such energy fields around bodies, such as Souls & Spirits, i think.

what is an Entropy?

it's randomness, it's decay, it's a measure of such as well, perhaps more...

---

is insight related to telepathy?

perhaps... i'd call it an 'artistic sense', which i have or possess at this moment at least...

what is insight?

when a thought appears in Mind, it can be observed.

then it can affect me, my emotions & other thoughts, affecting how i react, think, talk, do... sometimes i am carried by such, sometimes i have purifying experiences when ideas clash too violently, sometimes i react on emotions, with mind, body, perhaps speech.

in such cases of purifications & other experiences that are not very pleasant or harm, Mantras do help to transform Mind's state now and in future, in a next cycle... it's called seeding causes, sending energy, etc...

-- Yours, Chea Allin, a witch.

P.S. i do not wish to be Necromancer, but i'll do anything for Enlightened Love.

Restructuring.

Dear Journal,

Conveying General Del'Rosa's statement:

'As our initial request to segregate forces and grant the Cerulean Star some level of autonomy has stalled in the Senate, I am ordering the following command structure changes effective immediately:

Captain Vera De'Loria is hereby removed from here duties within the Cerulean Star and assigned to the Second Division as field commander over the Hammers and Archangels Units. Captain Hresh is reassigned to focus his attention solely on the command and oversight of the Far Scouts.

Additionally, Fifth Star Lycka Zomasdottir is hereby promoted to Sixth Star Captain and placed in command on the newly formed Fourth Division - The Knights of the Cerulean Star.'

-- Yours, Chea Allin, a Scribe.

Beach, Necromancy, Ogres.

Dear Journal,

Beach Necromancy is related to Ogres, Both as Necromancers and as their victims, Ogre Skeletons, perhaps more.

Ogres Gorge Cave was investigated by Shesarai Foutopolis and others, who is now part of Cerulean Knights, 1st Star.

Could not gather thoughts enough to go through all reports, but it seems that their Necromancers tap into the energies and Magics of Menhir Stones, part of Ley Line Network in the Area, which were used in past as means of transportation (teleports), and energy source for N'Jast Golems/Undead called Armatures.

Ley Line Network was Discovered & Investigated by a Spellweaver Mage, perhaps Isaac Hamilton that lived in times of Wethrillina Aeliath & Attentus filius Versutus, more or less.

Menhir Stones have capability to defend themselves magically.

i think i read about a mention of a light shooting from a Menhir Stones towards the skies, as a result of recent tampering and Ogre Necromancy & Other Rituals. Mind is too clouded to see through reports clearly, perhaps later will be able to see more, knowing magics of this land.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean Star 1st, an Arcane Advisor, Investigator & Researcher.

P.S. Mind is clouded due to Spells, i think.

Gnoll Battle.

Dear Journal,

A small group of heroes, more or less, has managed to attack gnoll camp from it's rear end, kill at least two to three dozen gnolls and escape back through the gnoll camp itself.

After this 'declaration of war' battles & skirmishes did escalate, but City of Peltarch does not seem to be fully involved still.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, rumourmonger & Scribe.

P.S. Later Anheim told me that while he's not so great Strategist, he thinks that after reaching it's objectives which was driving the gnolls away, perhaps capturing towers, it seems that there are small scale battles around that position. Perhaps troops are not ready to advance, nor wish to overextend against a single enemy faction.

P.S.S. As for rally speech, it was just that, a small scale rally & escalation speech, instead of a 'Great Mortal War Declaration, to the end of a Nation', thankfully, he said. Only one speech without intense effort, defilades, and such.

a Visit.

Selune's Temple at Night.

Dear Journal,

Have visited Selune's Temple at Night, thinking about patrols in case of a Dragon.

Thought about Necromancy also appeared a little later, more or less.

After that thoughts about Mystra and other Godessess and Gods appeared, decided to pay them respects as well.

-- Yours, Chea Allin.

Gnoll Attack.

Dear Journal,

Despite scarce warnings of scouts (i know at least of two), there was little of Gnolls' counterattacks.

Generals seem to 'have a blast hunting the occasional gnoll by the towers'.

About two dozens of gnolls were later repelled by our forces, but 'it's fairly clear now that gnolls have successfully surmounted the obstacles erected by the frost giants. Constant patrolling will be needed to keep them in check'.

-- Yours, Chea Allin, Cerulean star 1st.
