Excursion into Rawlins (Frances' Tale).

With my old familiar friend we've went to Norwick and into Rawlinswood, to hunt.

On our way we passed White Stag, holy animal. We could kill it but we didn't want to earn Druid Circle's Enmity. It's still a thrilling thought.

Then we stumbled upon fairly large amount of goblins and wolves, familiar fought like fiend - while my flaming arrows reduced them fast as they exploded in their body - incinerating them. We won and disembarked to warn the town guards, then return if neccessary.

Red Slaad in Kobold Swamp area.

Dear Journal,

i went for my swamp patrol with Nade, and after short while and few fights with kobolds we stumbled upon Red Slaad, froglike creature from the Plane of Limbo, essence of Chaos.

I cut it's red tongue as evidence and returned to Cerulean HQ to report. In a bad mood.

I've stumbled upon what would seem as leftovers of Patio Party at a Dancing Mermaid Inn.

I've bought batch of 'Longtooth' drinks, probably after adventuress of old, Lucia Longtooth.

And lemonade. Cheap (both).

My reality and my language.

Dear Journal,

What is Reality?

Is it something external, or product of my brain?

i think both.

When i discover new thing, phenomena or spiritual experience, i find a name (or invent it) and add it (it's meaning) to my 'Catalogue of Reality', or 'Dictionary of my world'.

Different people live in different worlds, even if they meet often in real.

Where mind travels, body follows.

What is real what is not?

Some people disregard magic as part of reality.... too bad their lives are poor, even if they own coin or few more.

Cold Caves.

Cold Caves - Entrance, part 1.

Dear Journal,

Large group of us went to Cold Caves to find magical treasures they hold.

It's very long and dangerous trip so i didn't intend to make it full way. I warned the team.

We went few levels in and deep, past gypsy camp occupied by infected gnolls, cold cave entrance, small ogre maze, ice-spider-filled cold crypts, and into large ogre maze.

One fight i considered noteably life-threatening.

My spell energies were running dangerously low, so i decided to retreat invisibly hoping that they won't smell me as i pass past them in cold, wet, dark, in places narrow and tangled web of corridors.

In cold crypts i had to meditate in half lotus position (not only mind's), letting spell energies return, hoping i won't freeze (deeper was too cold for rest), nor that spiders come back. I was lucky.

I got lost on way back, so i opened too many doors, but i did close them before they did notice me. Hopefully other adventurers won't suffer because of this.

Finally i found rope up and way out.

Perhaps someday i'll be ready to go through all of the ogre maze and onward.

P.S. Ogre Shamans' physique makes them highly resistant to body-affecting aspect of a 'Phantasmal Killer' spell. But i got one lesser ogre kill still with it.

Fire & Metal (Frances' Tale).

Fire & Metal.

I've returned from Norwick almost as 'strong' as i was before, regained barely access to 2nd circle magics.

Flame weapon spell can affect arrows and weapons.

On boat back i felt urge so i cast and hummed song from my dreams of youth...

.... 'Fire & Metal, Light & Shadow' ....

In these dreams i was part of a group of people using such and fighting, perhaps each other, perhaps common enemy, perhaps both. It's a thrill i must admit.

It will take a while before i control my own shadow, inner dragon of my Psyche. Being raised in Oscura left its mark afterall.

Then i can strive for fourth circle of magic and the Shadow Conjuration spell group.

Somehow i can't resist, nor want to resist this pursuit.

Goblin Cave - Kennels.

With my old friend anew, we've ventured again into Rawliswoods. Cleared area of goblins, for a while at least.... as they are numerous and breed fast.

Then we've dared their cave and met much stronger opposition. But as they say.... 'what won't kill me, will do me good. (without tears)'.

We survived, for we decided to retreat while we still could.

Then i've sold all this junk i've found on goblin corpses, and discovered that i am more than halfway toward buying new a longbow.

More staff fighting.

I've fought goblins and wolves with staff, bow and occasional help of my new black cat friend, until i've found my old mephit familiar (also known as 'Blue Flying Monkey', and called 'Memphit' by some).

I was so happy that i called him 'Panther'.

It'll stay that way, knowing magics of this land.

Back in howling woods (Frances' Tale).

Back to Norwick.

Getting back into shape after visit in fugue can be slow.

I ended up in typical place for too weak for others to consider them seriously, in Howling Woods.

Keeping goblin population down is important and practiced as a way to train in combat ways.

I've used my bow, rapid firing and fast, so goblin spellyappers could not focus on their spells.

When it came to close combat i relied mostly on my staff, with more or less elaborate circular movements, but also on panther i've bought to compensate for loss of my ice mephit familiar. Perhaps i'll find him later.

Age: 23 (she returned from fugue as young looking as she was at moment of death).
Gender: Female.
Alignment: Lawful Neutral.

Familiar: Panther (a large black cat).

Deity: She forgot in fugue, perhaps Kossuth (god of Fire and Flames). Now she also learns about Siamorphe, god of Nobility (Siamorphe is female demigodess, but Frances follows her male aspect, whose name she has to learn yet). She's also interrested in Mystra (Godess of Magic), Tempus (Warriors' God) & Red Knight (Lady of Strategy & Tactics).

Home Town: Oscura since birth, she occasionally resides elsewhere, mostly in Peltarch.

Description: Red haired, black dressed young woman. Noble traits clearly visible in her demeanor, but her outfit is 'barely looking' as she would say ... with an exception of a shiny ring she wears proudly on a middle finger of her left hand. She has Siamorphe's and Kossuth mons embroided on her barely fine robe. Her allies call her sometimes 'Noble Flame'. She has one certain 'noble' trait in her that is well known in the area, a peculiar smirk of a mage... sharp and somewhat disillusioned, as if performed by someone wiser now and tired with his arcane conquests.
