... i've bought a Silver Pentacle from travelling merchants.

it's a Powerful Symbol of Witchcraft, that i will enchant with Spell Resistance as much as possible - when i can.

Deeper into the Underdark.


Dear Journal,

Four adventurers assembled at the Peltarch Commons, to delve into deeper Underdark.
- Nuwairah Zarah'kifa (Excellent Warrior),
- Lunia Touve (a Cleric),
- Yatagan (Mage, probably a Sorcerer),
- Chea Allin (a Sorceress Witch),

We went past Oscura's Cave stairs to 'Kuo-Toa' tunnels, then through the 'Umberhulk' & 'Hook Horror' caverns (i cast 'Firebrand' on the 'Hook Horrors' once), to a place where 'Magic Eaters' & 'Skindancers' dwell.

'Magic Eaters' - as name suggests - are creatures that feed on magic ... casting spells on these just makes them bigger & stronger. They also devour & dispel enchantments placed on warriors. After death these leave spell crystals occasionally.

'Skindancers' adapt to damage from different source types ... if cast fire spell - they grow skin resistant to fire ... when magic missle is cast on them - they adapt as well ... and so on. Alternating damage types back & forth, however, is a means to defeat these with spells - even if it's hard.

We've defeated a fair amount of these threats, then decided to return while we still can.

On way back however, we met bandits & a captive, a well known Jeweller Craft Master Isania of Peltarch.

After a short attempt at negotiations fight ensued, i managed to have their chief 'held' for a while, but he shook off the spell somehow; they were defeated nevertheless ... as our warriors excelled, my 'firebrands' proved useful again.

We rescued Isania & returned to Peltarch safely.

She parted with precious gems & spell crystals as a gratitude as we shared trip's spoils among participants.

... now i own 11 spell crystals, it's a precious find.

... i lost some potions however, as well.

At a Dancing Mermaid Inn's patio,

Meditation & Rain.

Dear Journal,

Today's weather was cool, nice & somewhat rainy, i do not like too much of the sun.

Used that time to Meditate at Mermaid's Patio.

Dear Journal,

What is Meditation? Why to do it at all?

Meditation is a pleasant experience, i was taught to sit & observe mind.

As i sat, my body was immobile & spine straight, head slightly lowered.

i've observed mind & breath, visualized forms (imagined symbolic images in front of me, enlightening forms called yidams),

It's said that Meditation helps to transform our view - our knowledge & how we see the world - into experience.

Meditation is a way to understand oneself better, to defeat one's ego, to be more wise & compassionate, to reach Enlightenment.

It's ego that separates people, makes them suffer, defeating it makes everyone happier.

It's said that Enlightenment is much more than happiness, Enlightened people reach True Greatness in this life & after Reincarnation.

As a result of Meditation, my energy channels open, i change ... i can be better at what i do ... at casting spells & more.

One can meditate on something, on a way she or he proceeds ... to develop ... but ultimate goal of Meditation is Enlightenment itself.

i took Nade for a walk into the Kobold Swamps near Peltarch.

She hunted for swamp rats, we both faced kobolds.

i've got to test 'Firebrand' spell in a combat situation, it's truly powerful incantation.

10th Arcane Initiation.

After Initiation.

Dear Journal,

i've initiated myself into the Arcane Mastery again, 10th time in my life.

'Energy Channels' in my Mind & Body were purified & opened, allowing Arcane & Enlightened Energies to flow more freely.

now i can cast 5th circle spell, it's 'Firebrand' for now.

my weaker of spells also grew in power & duration, as well as in a number of casts per day.

i can cast weaker of spells more often, at higher circles, if i use 'Metamagical Still'.

i've also picked up 2nd circle 'Lesser Dispel', as i let go of 'Flame Weapon' for it.

i am more combat- & adventure-worthy since now.

'Lesser Dispel'.

Slaying Chirade.

Dear Journal,

... we've assembled a group to slay Chirade,

after briefing we've teleported to Jiyyd's Plains and followed to the Spider Cave, we proceeded through.

the 'Plane of Shadows' was close to the place, as darkness played mind tricks to us ... with shadowy undead & spiders attacking from all sides.

we went down through stairs, saw the Chirade's Machine, we suffered from 'Negative Energy' attacks of the Place.

finally we've confronted Mad Elf himself, we won & recovered a treasure.

P.S. Anna Blake gave me the 'Archer's Belt' on the way ... i've paid her 3000 gold pieces for it after we've returned.

P.S.S. Chirade's Machine was also destroyed by Anna's magic. Elvadriel & Isolde made sure that as it collapsed, we remained alive as well.

Robe's Corrections.

... after corrections.

Dear Journal,

Robe we won recently looked very mediciore to say at least, so i went to Violetta's to make corrections.

Violetta is a Tailor who can change most of magical outfit without breaking enchantments.

Her prices went down recently as well.

We've changed design, as well as colouring ... that will match the Element of Fire, as i've nearly mastered a powerful combat spell associated with the Fire Element, a 'Firebrand'.

Mermaid, a being.

Dear Journal,

We did meet a real mermaid, a being with sea-tail, in Peltarch Commons.

She needed to travel land and had a spell to grow two legs ... that fails when water or rain splashes on her.

She was speaking in Aquan, but two of adventurers knew this language & translated.

We agreed to be sent into the Plane of Earth to find Essence of Earth, that she will use in amulet creation ... so she can walk the land without legs turning into the tail too early.

We were given a map - a seashell that emited a sound when put to ear, the lower, the closer to our goal.

We spent some time searching forth & back, then went to Oscura, Kuo-Toa Caverns, Underdark ... on one of the isles there was a portal ... we reached it via magical bridge of Elvadriel's Making ... it was the 'Wall of Stone' spell cast on a side.

We ended in a place between planes ... filled with Earth Elementals & Magma-heat. There was the puzzle of step-plates & portals as the heat made us drink potions to recover from wounds.

We faced many monsters & dragons coming from puzzle's portals, one of us died.

Then we've reached the Elemental Plane of Earth - gravity was crushing in this place ... could not escape earth mephits, but Shesarai did shoot one with her bow, despite all of the difficulty. This saved my life.

Finally we've found the essence, then embarked on a long but fairly uneventful trip back.

Mermaid found us, tested her new amulet ... then rewarded with something precious & a few of potions.

... tired, i did go to an inn to sleep after that.
