Orc Cave & Longbone Debt Repaid (Isendir's Tale).

Visited Orc Cave a number of times, slowly gathering coin to pay my debt to Bronn, for the 'Longbone' Bow.

On last visit i wasn't alone, yet orcs had reinforcements - four Magicians & a Veteran, as well as unusually high numbers of Thugs & an Umberhulk.

We found some treasure, i was one who disabled trap & unlocked chest.

When we shared spoils in town, i hid a part of what i found, stealing from the party.

Then i participated in dice-rolling & sharing, taking even more.

Someday my greed will be my defeat, but for now i profit.

P.S. i met Bronn Razenk a while later & paid him coins - now i owe him nothing.

Debt Repaid (Isendir's Tale).

It was a lot of blood & gore in the orc caves, but i arranged for 5 500 gold pieces to pay Anna Blake for a cloak.

Now it's fully mine.

i'll need to take care of other things for a while, as such intense involvement in combat is mentally draining.

Perhaps i'll look into the brighter sides of life, more or less, for now, at least.

-- Isendir Nain, a greedy adventurer with a little of faith or morality.

Paid.

Debt Repaid, Debt Got ... and a new Cloak (Isendir's Tale).

... i've hunted Orcs mercilessly for their quirky equipment - it sells well at Hemrod.

It's more risky than hunting kobolds, but at least i am not so bored anymore.

Some of these valuable items require Lore skill to be identified, that i lack. Shopkepeers don't pay well for unknown items, had to bother other of adventurers to identify these for me.

Managed to collect 2 750 gold pieces to pay Anna Blake for her gloves.

Then new opportunity appeared, she sold me another item - a magickal Cloak with protecting qualities, for 5 500 gold pieces again.

i have to pay full amount within a year^*, or i'll lose this precious & useful cloak.

* A year in game is a month in real time; precisely it's a little more, but for simplicity we agreed to a real time month limit.

'The experience of meditation is like getting into a character, like someone who’s forgotten his or her identity. Relying on this method called meditation seems to require the person to get into that character, all the while not realising that that very character is him or herself.'

... i think getting into character in roleplaying games is lesser form of identification, can be dangerous if goes too far & deep ... emotional work can hurt on this way.

Blog author's history with Narfell.

Years ago i played this game much too much. i got in a depressed mood by roleplaying a depressed mage character named Attentus.

i wished to quit, but got insight in a Buddhist Center that every step taken during one's life can be a step on a Way for Enlightenment. i got insight that i should play still, but different way - not for enjoyment, but in a beneficial way.

Now i play for others, writing tales for kids, trying to seed their interrest in Buddhism & Esoterics - in meaningful life & friendships - instead of playing only computer games.

D&D Rules & Spells.

Spells alphabetically.

Spells by classes.

Few spells are not available in Pen and Paper D&D - they are Neverwinter Nights game specific.

In case of Narfell, they are server implementation specific.

There are moments when PnP rules are used, per a DM (Dungeon Master, a Storyteller, a Storyguide, a Narrator, a Judge, etc ...) discretion, including creative use of Spells, not available via implemented game mechanics otherwise.

there's also: 'd20 SRD' a ruleset ... perhaps it's also 'more than a ruleset' as well ...

'd20 SRD' is used in 'Narfell' as 'Narfell Community' & 'Related Communities', or it's parts at least, prefer ... in software implementation, as well as in rules, policies, DM(s) decisions ... etc ...
