Evil in the Fort Fish (Kenna's Tale).

Since years, there's a place in Nars Pass, where monstrous humanoids like Kuo Toa resided. It's a small fort, named: 'Fort Fish'. They were friendly and succesfully negotiated with local authorities permission to find shelter there.

But there was some of 'bad blood' between forces of Aura Runedar (nearby dwarven settlement, in a cave in Norwick), Norwick and Fort Fish.

Recently however, things did change.

About a month ago I was approached by Priesthood of Waukeen (Waukeen is a deity of wealth and trade), from a Temple near my Dojo. The Priestess said that denizens of Fort Fish have been doing bullying innuendo on passing merchants, requesting tribute. This did ruin businesses of small enterpreneurs, of small traders.

I, and few others, were asked to deliver the message to the Fort Fish, requesting them to relocate somewhere far, before someone kills them.

We went there as requested.

With the help of Dwarven Paladin named 'Silver Chalice' we did find traces of evil in the Fort Fish, and conveyed the message. We said that even if not everyone in the Fort is evil, their leaders are still responsible for doings of a few of miscreants in their ranks.

We did leave and waited for their decision.

Soon we did learn that they found guilty ones in their ranks and put their heads on spears in front of their Fort. Whether they were only guilty ones, or just were blamed for doings of everyone else is another matter.

Also, their leader, named: 'Fish' sent us a letter of reply.

In response, we went there to handle the remaining ones.

Long story short, we found traces of Kuo Toa leaving in hurry, and one guard. We let the guard flee.

There was also profaned altar and statue of Ishtishia (Ishtishia, the Water Lord, is a deity of elemental water and purification). We did smash and break both the profaned altar and statue on it, and killed some outsider creatures there.

Searching the Fort, we found - in dungeon - two seductive demons! One female and one male. They were immobilie, like paralyzed, and were guarded by tainted goblins, that we killed.

We could not kill the demons, even with our magical weapons, but once blood of goblins reached their bodies they did vanish from sight.

Searching further we found a poorly made mining excavation site leading down, but we could not descent further.

Rest of our party decided that dwarves of Aura Runedar will level the place and collapse the mining. Because 'there might be demons popping from the hole'.

We left the place with some treasures, and allied forces of Aura Runedar, Norwick and Peltarch were put to guard the entrance.

We'll see how things will develop from now on.

.. and ah! I found one suspicious, if powerful, ring coming the goblins that guarded the demons.

Evil Influence.

Dear Journal,

i've met a dwarf in Peltarch Commons, a dwarf who wore scary skull on his head, and death-coil robes over his body.

He claimed to be incarnation of 'Old Lord Skull', of dead god Myrkul.

Selune does fight against undeath, but i decided to 'pull his tongue' and question him before acting. Perhaps he was just insane.

i know reincarnation happens that way that indestructible mind reincarnates in one body, and inspires other beings to become similar ... by tales, objects of art, texts ... so there's one main incarnation, and more of confused beings in whom old being reincarnated as well - to a certain degree.

The Skull-Dwarf agreed with this theory, and mentioned something about others like him, about 'Church of the Reaper' rising soon.

His goal is to regain his divinity, to 'recover his lost divine essence'.

i asked him how he aims to do this? he replies that there are two ways. One is that the rival incarnations have to either worship him, or that he will devour their souls.

He seemed in need of mortals to speak, to praise him so his power grows.

i'll report this to the Cerulean Offices ... we might be interrested in this dwarf & his misdeeds.

Evil Servitude (Lomy's Tale).

Legend Lore.


Dear Journal,

Involved myself into a research & journey, into the Abyssal Fortress 'Tian Sumere', a fortress for Orcus himself should his ploys in Abyss fail.

Master of Peltarch's Bard College, Nathen Wingates did a Legend Lore spell & insights of wisdom overcame him.

He explained what he learned to us, i listened with envy to his great lore & storytelling skill.

He told us & vividly explained a plane of blood & fire, of undead & demons, of shadow-black raining from it's 'sky'.

There was a demon in a guise of a human mage called Kharsus who sought counsil of Glyphimhor, Lord of Orcusgate.

Their plan is to use Menhir Stones as a way to collapse the planes, to meld Abyss with Prime Material we live on ... then to start invasion.

They captured a powerful mage Maria, entrapped her so she can't defend the Menhir Stones across Narfell.

They captured a number of local druids & drain their energy to fuel the Plane-Collapsing Rites.

We went to investigate further & scry, saw a vision of demons plotting - then they detected us and attacked. Their lord told them to spare me, i avoided the fight.

During the fight i had a vision of demon asking for my loyalty for rewards of power & riches, i agreed in my Mind and bowed a little.

'i wish to serve you, to advance in your ranks, and earn proper rewards that way'.

i felt surge of fiendish energy going through my mind & body, was infused with evil spirit that shall guide me from now on, increasing my abilities as well.

My task is to befriend and infiltrate bards involved, i couldn't refuse the task.

Then fight stopped, we split the loot ... got magical 'Wailing Arrows', a few of powerful one-use spell-items as well.

After splitting the loot with others, i thanked them for an opportunity to gather the song-material - have to play sweet dumb to earn their trust.

Later when they talked about Bardic College, i asked about fee to participate in lessons - got in there for free. Master Nate got me key, assigned elf-hin bardess Atel as my Mentor - she will show me things as soon as i am ready & she has time.

Then i went to inn, for a night's reverie.

In Oscura, having a short break in Meditation ...


i wrote that things seem quiet here in Oscura, but there's more ...

... there's tyranny, slavery, tortures & narcotic drugs trade, among other acts considered criminal in other parts.


How one can think there's quiet here, then ?

Peace is enforced by guards under Tyranny of Council & Noble Lineages.


i am part of Darkhavens, one of Noble Families ... i was raised here.

With time one gets used to heinous acts.


i am not too moral, even if many think otherwise considering Oscura's standards in this regard.

i do not endorse tyranny, tortures & slavery, even if many slaves chose living that way on their own.

There were cases of slaves returning after being freed.

They know no other life, are clueless on how to survive ...


If i wanted to change things, how would i do this anyway ?

Alone i stand no chance against might of Oscura & their laws.


Tortures are tricky, that's how they treat traitors & similar even in other parts, including Peltarch i read.

Narcotic drugs are questionable as well ... many would find a way to buy them nevertheless.


i am returning to Meditation after a short break soon ...

I've arrived in Narfell alive & well.

Equipment is still a mess after a long travel.

Perhaps they won't kick me out from this rural place too early.

Dear Journal,

After few days at East River Coast i've decided to return.

I distracted lizards with Shelgarn's Dagger, and passed invisibly to Peltarch. I did cast many spells in preparations, including Owl's Wisdom.

I cast Clairaudience, Clairvoyance on hunch of superstition, to enhance my senses... i sensed fear and evil nearby in commons, but magic often fails.

Near Mermaid i've seen Chaevre Vaelen, about which i know from Attentus, Pale Master Necromancer and ex-Spellweaver Keep Leader.

Near her sat someone whom i recognized as John 'The Terror' Isle, Black Sail ranger and killer.

I went to inn to rest, chef slept in common room.

Then i faced the two.

i spoke Mantras: HUNG, Compassion Mantra, Wisdom Mantra, and prayed with Mantra: 'May Power of Enlightened work through us'.

Chaevre offered us to go on 'Massacre', on Kuo-Toa or Lizardmen, i am not sure... for it 'could be profitable'.

I declined offer, for i have nothing and i need less. And i do not support massacres.
